Pure SalmonTransmission Improvements Project

The Pure Salmon Transmission Improvements Project involves building approximately 2 miles of electric transmission line and a new substation.

Project Updates

07/26/23: Last summer, right-of-way representatives were working with landowners to discuss property impacts and next steps. Currently, the project team is working to finalize the project schedule and will update landowners and community members as the project progresses.

7/26/2022: The project team selected a proposed power line route. The decision was made after reviewing land use, environmental impact and community input provided during an in-person open house. Landowners along the proposed line route can expect to hear from Appalachian Power's right-of-way representative on the project.

05/19/22: Appalachian Power representatives invite community members and residents in the project area to learn more and provide input by attending an in-person open house next month. There is no formal presentation and landowners may come and go at any time during the two-hour event:

Tuesday, June 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Appalachian Arts & Event Center 112 River Road in Cedar Bluff

Landowners are encouraged to submit their feedback about the project by Friday, June 17. Comments on how this project affects your property or provide special conditions related to your property, you may use the comment form below or call 833-313-3743.
