Pryor Junction - VinitaTransmission Improvements Project

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) plans to rebuild approximately 27 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line. Existing wooden poles were installed in 1964 and have reached the end of their lifespan. Upgrading the line with modern steel structures and wires improves electric service reliability, reduces the likelihood of power outages and provides for faster recovery times when outages occur.

Fall 2021: TRC Companies, Inc., serves as PSO’s right-of-way representative on this project. Right-of-way agents are talking to landowners along the power line route to discuss necessary field activities, necessary easements and construction access.

Spring 2021: PSO crews and contractors plan to perform preliminary surveying work in spring 2021 within the utility's right-of-way along and adjacent to the line route. Some of the survey work may require crews to place stakes and ribbon within the company's easement* on your property. Crews plan to use existing streets and pathways wherever possible to access the easement area. PSO takes responsibility should any damage result from the surveying work.

* Company representatives plan to rebuild the power line in the existing right-of-way, which may require acquiring new or updating existing property easements. Easements are defined land rights that property owners grant the utility to allow for the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the power line.
