The Bryson Switch - Coolville Transmission Improvements Project involves:
The upgrades enhance electric reliability for customers in the area by increasing capacity with an additional source of power. Replacing aging infrastructure from the 1960s with modern equipment provides operational flexibility for the system to reroute power and accelerate restoration during outages.
Spring 2026: Following a project open house in February, AEP Ohio representatives continue to evaluate options for a proposed route. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and are working to determine a final line route by late spring.
This project involves the use of steel monopoles and H-Frame structures.
