Lamping - WoodsfieldTransmission Line Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Monroe County. The Lamping-Woodsfield Transmission Line Project involves building about 10 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line and upgrading a substation.

The project involves:

  • Building about 10 miles of power line
  • Upgrading a substation

Company representatives plan to build the power line in an approximate 60-foot right-of-way corridor and plan to acquire new property easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line. Crews are expected to begin rebuilding the line at the beginning of 2021 and conclude in the summer of 2023.
