Eastern MuncieArea Improvements


Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) officials plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in eastern Muncie. The project involves upgrading about 3.5 miles of power line to increase electric reliability in the area. Plans call for rebuilding some sections of the line in the company's existing right-of-way and re-routing other sections of the line.

  • I&M hosted an open house to introduce proposed study segments and answer questions related to the project in November 2019
  • I&M proposed a route for the 1-mile reroute in July 2020
