Delphos AreaTransmission line Rebuilds Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in Allen, Putnam and Van Wert counties. The project involves rebuilding about 9 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission lines between 4 area substations.

The project strengthens the local electric system by replacing deteriorating wooden poles from the 1930s with modern steel poles. The existing infrastructure has resulted in more than 40 service interruptions in the area over the past decade. Rebuilding the transmission lines improve operational performance, reduce the likelihood of extended power outages and enhance electric reliability for area customers.
