AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades in New Albany in Franklin County.
Company representatives plan to build the transmission line in an approximate 100-foot right-of-way corridor and acquire new easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.
The existing electrical network in this area has reached its capacity. The new power line and substation provide an additional power source to ensure reliable electric service for residential and commercial customers and support economic development in the area.
Crews began construction in early 2026 and will conclude in summer 2026.
*Received Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) approval.
