West Van Wert - Ohio CityTransmission Line Rebuild Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades to improve electric reliability for customers in Van Wert County.

The West Van Wert – Ohio City Transmission Line Rebuild Project involves:

  • Expanding and upgrading the existing West Van Wert Substation located off Richey Road (County Road 75) and the Roller Creek Substation located off Willshire-Ohio City Road (County Road 50).
  • Rebuilding approximately 6 miles of existing transmission lines in Van Wert County.

A section of the Project requires regulatory approval by the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB).

Plans call for rebuilding the power line in the existing right-of-way, although company representatives might need to acquire new easements or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of the line
