ElginTransmission Line Project

AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades in Van Wert, Allen and Auglaize counties. The upgrades support Midwest Electric and address the growing power demand in the area, enhancing electric reliability for customers.

The project involves building about 5 miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line connecting North Spencerville Substation off South Acadia Road to Midwest Electric's proposed Elgin Substation off State Route 116.

We are requesting feedback on possible study segments for the transmission line. Your feedback is important to us and helps our team determine a power line route that minimizes impacts to the community and environment. No final line route has been determined.

Project Updates

AEP Ohio representatives invite the community to attend an in-person open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, at Spencerville Local School’s Cafetorium located at 2500 Wisher Drive in Spencerville. There is no formal presentation, so you can arrive at any time during the event. You can view detailed maps and talk with team members about the proposed study segments.

Please share your input by Friday, December 15, 2023.
