AEP Ohio representatives plan power grid upgrades into southern Ohio and northern Kentucky. The project involves rebuilding about 3 miles of power line and building 1 mile of new power line. The proposed upgrades improve electric reliability by replacing aging infrastructure and speeding recovery of service when outages occur.
AEP Ohio crews began construction in fall 2021 and concluded in summer 2022. Crews expect to complete restoration by spring 2024.
