Kentucky Power representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission grid in Leslie, Clay, Bell and Knox counties. Construction begins in spring 2028 and concludes by summer 2030.
July 31, 2026: Kentucky Power representatives have selected a proposed route, shown above in the interactive map. Please note: Due to the current condition of the facilities, Kentucky Power field staff must complete emergency maintenance work ahead of the full rebuild in order to keep the transmission line operational. The emergency work - expected to be completed by the end of this 2026 - is in addition to the original project scope.
March 5, 2026: Kentucky Power representatives announced the Stinnett-Pineville Transmission Line Rebuild Project. We plan to host an in-person open house in your area to provide an opportunity for residents to meet and talk with project representatives. Since there is no formal presentation, residents may join the planned event at any time.
