Fort Wayne - RichmondTransmission Line Rebuild Project

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) representatives plan to upgrade the electric transmission network serving customers in northeast Indiana. The project involves rebuilding about 140 miles of 138-kilovolt transmission line and upgrading two substations. The project increases electric reliability in the area. Plans call for rebuilding the transmission line in the existing right-of-way, although company representatives might need to acquire new easements or supplement current easements to ensure the safe construction, operation and maintenance of the line.

May 2025:  Project construction is complete. Restoration of the project area continues. Crews plan to conclude restoration efforts by summer. Right-of-way agents remain available. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
