East Fayetteville Station Improvements

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) is planning to add a switching station at its East Fayetteville point of delivery to Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. (AECC) to accommodate upgrades to AECC’s local transmission system. AECC requested the new facilities as part of the conversion of the AECC substation and Ozarks Electric Cooperative transmission system from 69-kilovolt (kV) to 161-kV.

Greenland - Van Buren Transmission Line Project

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) plans to invest approximately $40 million in upgrading the electric transmission grid in Washington and Crawford counties in northwest Arkansas. Work will take place in both counties and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

North Huntington - Waldron Transmission Line Project

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) plans to invest approximately $19 million in upgrading an existing 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Sebastian and Scott counties. Work began Summer 2017 and was completed Summer 2018.

Siloam Springs Transmission Improvements Project

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) plans to invest approximately $4 million in upgrading an existing 161-kilovolt (kV) transmission line in Siloam Springs. Work is planned to begin early 2019.
