Stewart Road345-kV Transmission Line Project

AEP Texas and Electric Transmission Texas, LLC. (ETT) plan to address the need for a more robust and reliable transmission system in the Lower Rio Grande Valley by constructing additional electric transmission infrastructure. The new transmission line will provide additional capacity to serve the growing electrical load in one of the fastest growing areas of Texas.

Project Updates

ETT hosted a public open house for the project on June 20, 2017 to gather landowner input on potential route links for the proposed power line project.

Following review of public input and additional data on the project, ETT filed a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) application to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) on February 16, 2018 to ask for approval of the proposed power line.

The PUCT issued the Final Order of approval of the CCN application on February 13, 2019. Access the PUC Docket No. 47973 Order here.
