Putnam Area Power Reliability Improvements Project

    AEP Texas representatives plan power line upgrades to help maintain the safety and reliability of the local power grid. The $17 million investment involves rebuilding about 21 miles of 138-kilovolt (kV transmission line near Putnam in Callahan and Eastland counties.

    The project involves:

    • Rebuilding about 21 miles of 138-kV transmission line
    • Replacing deteriorating wooden H-frame structures with single steel poles
    • Replacing existing wire
