Hugo - Fort Towson - Valliant Transmission Line Rebuild Project

    Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) plans to improve the reliability of the electric transmission grid in McCurtain and Choctaw counties. The Hugo - Fort Towson - Valliant Transmission Line Rebuild Project includes replacing and upgrading about 23 miles of 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line. The project upgrades the transmission infrastructure to accommodate future growth in the region by strengthening the electric infrastructure.

    The Hugo - Fort Towson - Valliant Transmission Line Rebuild Project extends from the Hugo Substation located near North A Street in Hugo to the Fort Towson Substation located northeast of Fort Towson, then continue east to the existing Valliant Substation northeast of Valliant. This project is necessary to update the line to meet current standards and continue the delivery of reliable electric service to the area.

    An early estimate of the investment on this project is $27 million. Pre-construction activities are expected to begin began Fall 2018 and the project is expected to be complete by summer 2019.
