West Licking CountyArea Improvements


AEP Ohio officials plan to upgrade the area’s power grid to support economic development and maintain electric service reliability for customers in Jersey Township in Licking County. The project involves building about 2 miles of power line and a substation.

Preliminary solutions could include:

  • Building new power lines
  • Adding a substation
  • Upgrading other substations in the area

Project Updates

September 2022: AEP Ohio representatives filed a Letter of Notification with the Ohio Power Siting Board for the proposed power line route.

Fall 2021: Company officials proposed additional study segments for consideration and hosted a virtual open house to gather input from local residents.
