AEP Ohio representatives plan to build an underground electric transmission line south of Interstate 70 in downtown Columbus. The Marion Road - Mound Street 138 kV Transmission Line project involves building approximately 3 miles of underground transmission line, upgrading two substations and retiring approximately 4 miles of underground power line.

The improvements are necessary to accommodate road improvements by the Ohio Department of Transportation and address aging infrastructure.
