AEP Ohio plans upgrade a 20-mile 69-kilovolt transmission line in Ross and Highland counties. The Liberty-Buckskin Area Improvements includes rebuilding about 17 miles of existing transmission line in the current right-of-way, and in some cases supplementing current easements. The remaining 3 miles will require construction in new areas and a line reroute. We are asking for input on the proposed study segments so we can determine a route for the new section of line.
The projected costs of the upgrades are approximately $30 million, an investment that will enhance reliability in the area and reduce the possibility of extended power outages.
The proposed route was announced on Thursday, January 11, 2018. The proposed route announcement follows an open house held in September 2017, during which AEP Ohio provided detailed information about the project, engaged with property owners to discuss the proposed study segments, and encouraged public comment regarding the proposed project. Contract Land Staff (CLS) will serve as AEP Ohio’s right-of-way representative and will work closely with property owners regarding survey activities, easement acquisition and construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Rick Beer, lead CLS right-of-way agent, at 614-519-8224 or at email@example.com.
